COMPANY OVERVIEW

Kuwait Catalyst Company is a Kuwaiti Shareholding (closed) Company, formed in 17th December,1996 by a group of prominent local and international investors with an objective of providing complete catalytic solutions to the regional refining industry and to satisfy the requirement of catalyst used in the crude oil refining process. KCC’s new generation catalyst plant at Shuaiba Industrial area, was originally built on the ‘HOP’ Technology, provided by Japan Energy Corporation, Japan (JEC), presently known as Jx Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation. JEC exited catalyst business and Advanced Refining Technologies USA (ART) procured the world-wide ‘HOP’ technology rights from JEC in the year 2005. Now, KCC is fully associated with ART.
ICR Technology from KCC, Licensor Advanced Refining Technologies USA brought good tidings to the crude oil refining industry. commercialization of ICR Catalyst had been achieved through optimizing the catalyst formulation , optimum choice of raw materials enhanced characterization, more efficient testing techniques,optimized synthetic steps and improved manufacturing process.

Strategically located within the vicinity of the refineries of Kuwait and with proximity to the refineries of Arab countries, the catalyst plant has a production capacity of 5,000 MTPA.


“Advanced Refining Technologies” is an American company formed by Chevron Products Company, a division of Chevron U.S.A. and Grace Davison business unit of W. R. Grace & Co. Conn. U.S.A. ART is primarily engaged in catalyst technology research, development, production and catalyst marketing. ART controls more than 60% of Resid Hydroprocessing Catalyst market world-wide.

Strategically located within the vicinity of the refineries of Kuwait and with proximity to the refineries of Arab countries, the catalyst plant has a production capacity of 5,000 MTPA. The plant, equipped with latest, automatic, digital process control & manufacturing management systems, commenced its commercial production in the year 2001.
